Chef
Keiko Ishida was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She studied
pastry at Ecole Rits Escoffier Paris, Ecole Lenotre and Ecole
Gastronomique Bellouet Conseil in Paris, France to further pursue
her passion and improve her technique and skill in the style
of the old French masters.
Keiko
was also trained at a pastry shop named Le Triomphe in 20th
ward, Paris. She was also an assistant to Chie Kato, one of
the most famous baking instructors in Japan. In 1993, she
started her own baking studio in Tokyo called " Atelier
K". She has also contributed her recipes to publishers,
produced wedding cakes and catered pastries for dessert buffets.
In 2003, Keiko moved to Singapore then restarted her baking
classes in 2004.
In April 2007, Keiko launched her inaugral cookbook Feast of Flavours: Japanese, featuring popular home-style recipes with step-by-step photos and instructions (autographed copies available at our retail shop, published by Marshall Cavendish Cuisine, S$22.50)
